We at Nireekshana run an outpatient healthcare center in Hyderabad to provide essential medical care to individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS, leprosy, and NTDs. Our comprehensive approach includes counseling, medical treatment for opportunistic infections (OIs), Cotrimoxazole prophylaxis, and related care. We believe that everyone in need should have easy access to basic care, and hence, we operate as a day clinic. Most of our patients come to us through word-of-mouth referrals from local and village leaders, health and community-based organizations. Remarkably, some travel distances exceeding 100 kilometers to access our specialized medical counseling, medical management and holistic care irrespective of existing geographical challenges.
Counseling
Counseling at Nireekshana spans personal and family sessions, addressing the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of our patients. We provide a confidential and nurturing environment for our patients and their families to share their fears, concerns, and challenges. Our counselors understand that patient confidentiality is key. Additionally, our team of counselors provides crucial advice and support to assist families in caring for the sick and planning for their future health management.
Clinical Services
Prevention and Treatment of Opportunistic Infections (OIs): This includes infections such as tuberculosis (TB), respiratory infections, gastrointestinal infections, skin infections, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
HIV Testing: Patients needing HIV tests are counseled and referred to the Voluntary Counseling and Testing Centre (VCTC).
Counseling on Treatment Adherence and Routine Health Checks: To prevent major medical problems, we offer counseling, nutritional and vitamin supplements to aid ongoing treatment.
